A circus at home
Peinture (Painting) is a testament to Joan Miró’s love of the circus. Like Alexander Calder, he was a great admirer of the famous Fratelli brothers, a trio of Italian clowns who were the talk of Paris in the 1920s. Clownish comedyis clearly plays a part in Peinture. Trance, balance and humor create their own pictorial language, as formulated by one of the great painters of the 20th century. The high quality of the reproduction ensures that the colors in the poster glow with a luminosity similar to the original.
