The Side by Side label turns household objects into surprising accessories with a little something extra. For example, a bookshelf that includes a fixed bookmark, or a fruit bowl made of three parts that get pieced together like a puzzle. The products have received numerous awards for their design, and they also stand for social engagement. People with physical and mental disabilities at various workshops around Germany manufacture the pieces by hand – exclusively from natural wood and environmentally-friendly oils, waxes and varnishes.
