Description

Works from the collection as fine-art prints in your own home

Each work of art is an original which is part of what makes it so special. The disadvantage, however, is that the work cannot be in several places at once. As a way of allowing us to look at paintings outside as well as inside the museum, the Fondation Beyeler creates high-quality fine art prints of selected works. The masterpieces are digital printed on high-quality papers that are resistant to ageing. Find your favourite work in the Shop and enjoy it within your own four walls!

From early on Henri Matisse sought to translate space and solids into something two-dimensional and decorative. At first, his interiors and still lifes combined realistic three-dimensional motifs with arabesques. After the life-changing experience of the Islamic exhibition in Munich in 1910 and a trip to Morocco in 1912, he began painting only flat surfaces.
