Exclusive Set of Plates

"Misfits" is the name of the table service designed by Marina Abramović (* 1946) for Bernardaud, the first tableware manufacturer in France. Life is not perfect, so why should tableware be matched? The plates can be combined more freely as they each have a different size and pattern. They make it possible to adapt to all the constellations of meals and guests, including the "solo meal" that Abramović considers as a peaceful and friendly moment, and associates with the pleasure of taking time for yourself. The choice of motifs is inspired by details of the artist's life, whether it is the coat of arms of his family in Montenegro, a detail of his work "Golden Lips" (2009) or the red star, symbol of former communist Yugoslavia. Finally, the golden plate symbolizes the sun and counterbalances the weight of the star.
