Liminal Still Print

The Fondation Beyeler presents a major new exhibition of Pierre Huyghe (1962, Paris), one of the most innovative and influential contemporary artists. In an exhibition exclusively conceived for the Fondation Beyeler, newly created works will feature alongside key pieces from recent years. Pierre Huyghe is renowned for his boundary-crossing works, where fiction and reality seamlessly merge. His creations arise at the intersection of various disciplines, combining cinematic, technological, biological, physical and digital elements into living and dynamic situation where new subjectivities and sensibilities could emerge and evolve over time.

The art edition Liminal Still Print was produced in close collaboration with the artist and his studio to mark the exhibition. The edition is limited to 50 copies and is signed and numbered.

Liminals is Pierre Huyghe’s most recent film. The work and this stilll expands on Liminal (2024), an earlier iteration first presented at Punta della Dogana in 2024.

Liminals (2026) unfolds like a myth of our time, imagining the non-human condition and exploring uncertainty. A hollow, faceless figure emerges, shifting between states as the character attempts to exist beyond time and space. This liminal condition unfolds as an ongoing dance of matter, where multiple possibilities coexist simultaneously and each moment remains unstable. As inner and outer worlds fold into one another, the boundaries between body, environment, and forces dissolve, raising the question of whether such a reality can be experienced at all - and how multiple states might exist at once.
