It may be the case that we now know better, but the plastic mountain still keeps growing. Dutch designer Foekje Fleur is committed to helping combat this problem, with solutions that are playful and serious alike. Taking her inspiration from plastic waste, she creates porcelain vases that resemble bottles of washing-up liquid or window-cleaning fluid. She also produces ecologically sustainable cleaning soaps, baby soaps and shampoo bars as a plastic-free alternative to liquid soaps. And lastly, she uses recycled plastic for new creations such as the Bubble Buddy soap dish. The Bubble Buddy is not only an attractive and practical container for your soap bars: if you turn the perforated tray upside down, it becomes a grater, with which you can make soap flakes that dissolve into suds for washing.
