24 Stops – 24 Hours

Since February 2016, 24 objects by artist Tobias Rehberger have been demarcating the path running between the Fondation Beyeler in Riehen and the Vitra Campus in Weil am Rhein. With the eye-catching colors and forms of its waymarkers, «24 Stops» invites us to pause, take a closer look, and let our imagination run free. The Cuckoolus Swatch has been designed by Rehberger within the framework of this art project and likewise opens up freedom of scope. For here, the functions of the hour and minute hands are abolished and both hands are the same length. Time itself is thus put a little out of joint as the watch can be read in two ways. We have to take a moment to orient ourselves, in order to locate ourselves correctly within the 24 hours of a day. The Swatch Art Special is available in a limited edition of 4,962 – one for each meter of the «24 Stops» path.
