Wolfgang Laib (b. 1950) is a German artist whose unique oeuvre overlaps the spheres of Land Art and minimalism alike. His works are typically created out of natural materials such as beeswax, pollen, and rice. The lithograph Untitled was produced in conjunction with the exhibition of Laib’s work held at the Fondation Beyeler in 2005/06. It represents one of the large-scale ziggurats, created out of beeswax, that were on view in the exhibition. In this luminous Art Edition, Laib combines his own stepped tower with drawings of Oriental ziggurats. A tower in your living room will certainly give you a good view!

Between 12 and 25 August 2024, we will be installing our next collection display (on view from 26 August) and our large Matisse retrospective (on view from 22 September).
During this time, the museum, the Art Shop and the «Beyeler Restaurant im Park» will remain closed. We look forward to welcoming you again once the installation work has been completed.
