Inspired by Hopper’s visual worlds
The endless expanse of America’s landscapes and cityscapes is a recurring motif in the paintings by Edward Hopper presented at the Fondation Beyeler’s 2020 spring exhibition. Swiss designer Catherine Henggeler has chosen one of these paintings—Railroad sunset (1929)—as a source of inspiration, in order to create two exclusive scarves on the occasion of the show. Just like Hopper’s picture, her accessories are infused with bright colors—and also with a touch of wanderlust. The designer has namely travelled extensively and has worked for many years with small family businesses in Nepal, India and Italy to produce her high-quality scarves.
