Jeff Wall, German
Catalogue of the 2024 exhibition
Canadian artist Jeff Wall (*1946) played a key role in establishing photography as a pictorial medium in its own right and is seen as a pioneer in the use of “staged photography.” His large-format pictures, composed from many individual images, are often inspired by examples from art history. With over fifty works, the exhibition at the Fondation Beyeler covers the full range of his oeuvre, with largeformat color transparencies displayed in lightboxes, black and white photographs, and colour C-Prints.
Between 12 and 25 August 2024, we will be installing our next collection display (on view from 26 August) and our large Matisse retrospective (on view from 22 September).
During this time, the museum, the Art Shop and the «Beyeler Restaurant im Park» will remain closed. We look forward to welcoming you again once the installation work has been completed.
