Inspired by Wolfgang Tillmans

Ever since the start of his artistic career, Wolfgang Tillmans has devoted himself tirelessly to the exploration of his surroundings via photography. He has thereby experimented widely with the genre and its techniques—from analogue to digital photography and from representation to abstraction. A number of his photographs are today housed in the museum’s collection. In collaboration with the Fondation Beyeler, the design team at the St. Gallen textile manufacturer Jakob Schläpfer has created this elegant silk foulard, inspired by Tillmans’ impressive motifs, compositions and worlds of color.
