Henri Matisse - Nu bleu I, 1952
|Art Club price (10%)||CHF 22.50|
Nu bleu /(Blue Nude I) was created t two years before Henri Matisse’s death. In his late work, the artist turned to scissors and paper as a means of further simplifying his pictorial language. He breathed monumental life into complex figures and forms with this highly efficient artistic technique. Indeed, it is in Matisse’s simplest works that his genius, and significance within the history of 20th-century art, can perhaps be seen most clearly.
To stand in front of originals and look at art one-to-one is always a very special experience.
