Irma Boom

Marking the 150th anniversary of the artist’s birth, the Fondation Beyeler will devote an exhibition to the Dutch painter Piet Mondrian. As one of the most important artists of the avant-garde movement, Mondrian shaped the evolution of painting from figuration to abstraction.

The Dutch typographer and book designer Irma Boom has designed the exhibition catalogue and an Art Edition. By using different materials, formats and colours, her books become a visual experience.

The Art Edition "Mondriaan & Mondrian" was designed by Irma Boom exclusively for the Fondation Beyeler and shows two overlapping portraits of Piet Mondrian. The prints are available in an edition of 50, numbered and hand signed.
