Uwe Wittwer (b. 1954) is a Swiss artist, whose oeuvre embraces a wide range of media, including watercolor, oil painting, inkjet prints, digital images and video. After focusing at the start of his career on expressive abstract painting, Wittwer began working with digital images that he downloads from the internet. Landscapes, cityscapes, still lifes and portraits that were once photographs or Old Master paintings are translated into watercolors and inkjet prints.
