What do you see?
Uwe Wittwer (b. 1954) is a Swiss artist, whose oeuvre embraces a wide range of media, including watercolor, oil painting, inkjet prints, digital images and video. After focusing at the start of his career on expressive abstract painting, Wittwer began working with digital images that he downloads from the internet. Landscapes, cityscapes, still lifes and portraits that were once photographs or Old Master paintings are translated into watercolors and inkjet prints.
The Art Edition Rotation exudes a sense of enigma and tells a seemingly impenetrable story. Uwe Wittwer’s works make a lingering, lasting impression. Nothing can be directly grasped, assessed, or clearly classified. Would you like to give yourself the time to interpret the motif?
